BOXING IN MELBOURNE.
STRIBLING BEATS FREEMAN. (Reccivecl 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. At the Melbourne Stadium last eveninn- Young Stribling (13.8) had little difficulty in outpointing Johnny Freeman (13.3) in a 15-round bout. The large crowd was disappointed at the onesidedness of the bout and repeatedly counted out the boxers. Freeman was well trained and looked like holding his own until the sixth round, when Striltling, in his characteristically confident style, leading with his left to excellent purpose and wasting no punches, did exactly as he liked. He constantly drove Freeman to the ropes, whipping under or over his guard with lightninglike lefts which told 'their tale. Freeman could do no more than smother and drop ifito clinches in order to escape more severe punishment. Stribling created the usual impression that he was fighting a "cold not desiring a knock-ous. Certainly he is a most difficult opponent and fights with supreme confidence, vim and erect bearing.
