BIRKENHEAD EX-SERVICEME!"
AMALGAMATION WITH AUCKLAND. A unanimous decision to amalgamate with the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association was made by the Birkenhead Ex-Servicemen's Association at the annual meeting last evening. Addresses were given by Colonel Dawson, vice-president of the Auckland R.S.A., and by Mr. H. J. Aekins, the secretary. Mr. A. E. Grcenslade presided. Officers • elected were:—Patron, Dr. J. W. Craven; president, Mr. G. B. Chivnery; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. C. Yeomans, Geo. R. Hutchinson, J. Bright. Jas. Prickett, Noel J. Campbell and" R. 11. Hayman; secretary, Mr. J. W. Canty; treasurer, Mr. E. J. Spencer; committee, Messrs. S. T. Carter, E. J. Spencer. F. L. Gilpin, G. Hingston, A. Fraser. A. White, J. E. Gonlden, B. Dingley and J. Prescott; auditor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade. A vote of condolence was passed to the family of Mr. J. P. MePhail, late Mayor of Birkenhead.
