HOME SERVICE.
The last meeting of the Auckland Home Service Association was presided over by Mrs. J. Cook, in the absence of the president, Mrs. Mitchell, in Wellington. There were present: Mesdames Cruickshank, C. J. Kirk, N. Wade, T. Derrick, J. J. Kingston, W. A. Guun, W. R. Fee, W. Traile, E. I. A. Macdonald, H. G. Gulliver, Wicksteed, Williamson, and Mies Macdonald. It. was reported that a benefit matinee and evening performance given by one of the picture theatres resulted in a welcome addition to the association's finances. Efforts were being made to co-operate with the work of the St.. John Ambulance Association, the women's division of the Farmers' Union, the Social Welfare Council and other kindred organisations. In the office of the association, August had brought in a great deal of work and it had b'een possible to supply over 50 employers with the various kinds of help needed by them. Calk for help from the Waik'ato, Bay of Islands and other country districts had been answered, and many kinds of workers, including packers, knitters, chauffeurs, demonstrators and others, had been put in touch with employers.
