CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND

IN T REMUERA DISTRICT. Residents near the corner of Reinuera Road and Wairere Road, facing the Ellerslie Racecourse, wish to have a children's playground laid out on an education reserve at the corner. At yesterday's meeting of the Education Board the chairman, Mr. T. U. Wells, said there were just over three acres in the reserve, and at present its condition made it an eye-sore. The board had in the district the Reinuera school, the Meadowbarik school, and there was a school site in Victoria Avenue. He did not think it would require the Wairere Road corner unless the Reinuera school was taken for a junior high school. The board decided therefore to lease the land to the City Council under certain conditions.
