TAXPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.

COMMERCE CHAMBER'S VIEW. A statement that the Auckland Junior Chamber' of Commerce is unlikely to support any movement for setting up a association in New Zealand is made by the president in a letter to the Papatoetoe Chamber of Commerce. The letter states: "It is most improbable that this chamber or any other chamber of standing, will give such support, as we are all affiliated to the Associated Chambers of Commerce, which on its reorganisation took over the functions of the New Zealand Taxpayers' Federation. It would be hardly possible for the chambers to promote an opposition organisation, nor, in view of the activities of the Associated Chambers, is such an organisation necessary."
