THEFT ALLEGED.
JOCKEY CLUB FUNDS. EX-SECRETARY ARRESTED. SUM OF £204 INVOLVED. REMAND TO BE SOUGHT. Frederick Deuehar McVay, until recently secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club, was arrested this afternoon by Detective Sergeant Martin. McVay was charged with stealing £9 on June 1, and between July 1, 1931, and June 23, 1932, being a servant of the club, stealing £204 5/10. Accused will be charged before a magistrate later this afternoon, when the police will ask for a remand.
