MEAI EXPORTS.

NO REDUCTION PROBABLE. UNLESS TARIFFS INCREASE. MR. COATES' ASSURANCE. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. It was announced by Mr." Coates last evening that the three confidential features in the Ottawa Meat Pact with Britain will be released between October 13 and 18, upon receipt of advice from the Imperial Government. Mr. Coates emphasised that there would be no reduction imposed on meat exports from New Zealand unless there were some sudden or unaccountable increase in regard to tariffs—and tariffs only. The wording of the agreement between New Zealand and Britain was the same as that made between Britain and the other' Dominions, but in the meat agreement between New Zealand and Great Britain the wording was somewhat different from that of agreements affecting other Dominions. The method of its working was also somewhat different.
