PERSONAL.
Dr. W. H. Parkes and Dr. S. Kenrick returned to Auckland from Wellington this morning. Mr. A. J. Hutchinson and Mr. E. J. Mcßrearty, of Amalgamated Theatres, arrived in Auckland from Wellington this morning. Mr. R. Girling Butcher, chief inspector of explosives, arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this morning. He is at the Star Hotel. Mr. Chung Tak Kwong, of St. Paul's College, Hongkong, who has been teaching at St. Paul's School, Fiji, is at present in Auckland, prior to leaving for China. ' Mr. F. C. G. Huse, audit inspector of railways for the North Island, and Mr. C. G. Howard, assistant inspector, came as far as Frankton by the Limited express this morning. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, left for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the Nurses' Registration Board. He expects to be back in the city on Saturday. Mr. C. S. Donovan, president of the Thames Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed representative of business men of the town on the advisory committee constituted under the Thames Borough Commissioner Act, 1932. He was the sole nominee. Mr. A. M. Seaman, president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. H. Turner, vice-president, were appointed at this morning's meeting of the chamber to represent the Auckland body at the conference of the Associated Chambers, to be held in Dunedin on October 27 and 28.
