SEASONAL WORKERS.
UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD PLANS. MAXIMUM RELIEF FIXED. MAEEIED AND SINGLE MEN. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The scheme by which the Unemploy--ment Board plans to give relief to seasonal workers who were previously barred from obtaining relief under various schemes of the board has now been finalised. The principle on which the board will work is as follows:—Maximum measure of relief which may be given to seasonal worker during his "off" period may be such that, when added to his earnings for "working season, he shall not make a total greater than £20 above a full measure of relief which lie may have gained had he been wholly engaged on relief for the whole year. For instance, the maximum amount earned on relief works by a single man, plus £20, would be £05. If a single man earned £78 over an eightmonth period as a seasonal worker, he would receive nothing by way of relief. A married man with no children would receive £0 by way of relief, a married man with one child £19," a married man with two children £U2, and a married man with three or more children £45. • Owing to the difficulty of establishing their earnings, seasonal workers will be required to eecure confirmation of their earnings from the freezing- company or other employer.
