PIGEON FLYING.
AUCKLAND SOCIETY. The Auckland Pigeon Society flew Its third race of the season from Taumarunui in dull weather. Results:— Mr. H. Milham and Buchanan's b c c Excited. 1157 yds; Regal Lofts' b b c Regal Reveille, 1155 yds: Eden Lofts' r c c Iron Duke, 1148 yds; Grime and Ryan's b c c Home Sick, 1145 yds; Mr. S. Lathrope's r g c Ragtime, 1141 yds; Mr. L. Hamilton's b c c Sunglen. 1090 yds; Reed Bros.' b b h Rose Maid. 929 yds. This victory made the third in succession for Mr. Dyson.
CARLTON CLUB. The above club held a race from Ohakune on Saturday, an airline distance of 190 miles. The weather was fine. The winning bird came to its loft after 4J hours' flying. May's r c h All Gold, 1058 yds; Mr. J. Hughes' bee The Count, 1055 yds; Mr. r c c Distant View, 1051 yds; Mr. E. Bellman's r c c Ragtime, 1050 yds. The next race will be flown from National Park.
HIKURANGI CLUB. The Hikurangl Homing Pigeon Club held Its inaugural race in the yearling average, the birds being liberated at Papakura, an airline of 107 miles. Result:—J.
