THIRD LEAGUE TEST.

FINAL MATCH OF TOUR. THE TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. BRIMBLE IN AS FIVE-EIGHTH. The third Test match between England and New Zealand, completing the series of eight matches in the Dominion in the course of the tour of the sixth English Rugby League team, will take place at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon. Although the visiting combination, by winning the first Test on July 30 at Auckland by 24—9, and the second Test at Christchurch on Saturday by 25 —14, have captured the rubber, there is a feeling that the improved New Zealand side selected may give the Englishmen a closer contest in the last match of the tour. Better Selection. The elect of New Zealand on this occasion will include Norman Campbell, the Marist full-back, who, apart from a few mistakes in positional play, gave a sound exhibition for Auckland against the tourists. Watene, the City Roveis full-back, who gave a fine display in the second Test as custodian, has been moved up to the throe-quarter line, to which he is no stranger. He is fast, and there can be no question as to his ability on defence. Cooke, who has recovered from injury received in the last Test, will be at centre, with List on the other side of him. Brisbane will be second five-eighth. The inclusion of Brimble in the first berth will be hailed with satisfaction. There are many good judges who consider that the clever little Newtonian has been mistakenly overlooked for big games. He should link up well with the scrum half, Abbott.

A solid and fast pack has been chosen. Campbell, the Marist hooker, who by his success in the second Test, and in the Wellington match, has proved himself the best rake in New Zealand, should have a better opportunity to prove his worth. The only doubtful forward is the City player, Clarke, whose weight in the scrums, however, will be an asset. Calder has the distinction of being the sole South Islander in the team. Laird and Lawless are ideal second row men, and Clark (Marist), whose form has improved since he last appeared, should give the good service of which he is capable as breakaway. New Zealand has only to show pace and enterprise around the serums to make the game the hardest which the visitors have had here. • Hudson's First Test. With the exception of the ex-Durham County Rugby man, who plays for Salford, the English rearguard will be the usual Test side. Hudson, who will replace Ellaby on the right wing, is a strong and resourceful player 27 years of age, and weighing over 13st. He has recovered from injuries, received in Australia, and will be appearing in his first Test match of the tour and making his debut in Auckland. It will be interesting to see how he shapes. A new forward to be seen will be the Swinton front row man, J. Wright, 23 years of age, who will take the place of Silcock. The international.match will start at 3 p.m., being preceded by a series of curtain-raisers, including Kaikohe v. Papakura, and a farewell Maori haka by the Kia Ora Rugby League team of South Auckland.
