HUSBAND FOUND SHOT
WIFE ON MURDER CHARGE. VANCOUVER, August 13. Libby Holman Reynolds, the exotic star of several Broadway musical comedies, has been arrested and charged with the murder'of her husband, Smith Reynolds, heir to the tobacco millions Indicted with her is A. B. Walker, a close friend of the dead man. Young Reynolds was found shot to death on July 0 after a wild birthday party at the Reynolds' family residence in Cincinnati. Reynolds, wl<o was only 22, was evidently jealous of his boon com pan ion Walker. At the inquest Libby took refuge behind a story of intox'eation. She s;iii! she could not remember anything about the party night except a flash showing her husband standing beside her bed with a gun at his head. The police, however, believe that Reynolds did not shoot himself. The firs"t search failed to reveal the weapon, which was evidently deliberately placed where it was later found. An estate worth f/5,000,000 is involved in the outcome of the trial. Libby Hol- ' man'ii doctor says she will soon have a baby, about the paternity of which young Reynolds had .serious doubt.
