PREMIERS' PLAN.
Failure to Revive Purchasing Power. QUEENSLAND CRITICISM. (Received 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. The Parliament of Queensland was opened by the Governor, Sir Leslie Wilson, who, in the course of a lengthy speech, stated that the Premiers' Plan, while successful in effecting a reduction in the cost of Government, was lacking in the measures necessary to restore industry and commerce by reviving the purchasing power of the community. The Government's revival policy will be continued. Referring to the sugar industry, his Excellency said: "The attitude recently adopted by the Federal Government, and the pressure being exercised on sugar producers with a view to securing \ revision of the agreement with the Queensland Government was causing grave concern.
