REDUCTION IN N.S.W. Clubs Agree to Meet Wishes Of Government. TIN HARES TO STOP. (United P.A.-Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 11.r>0 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Yielding to the Government's detiire for a curtailment of racing, the officials of metropolitan and provincial race clubs hold a conference at Syd«—y and agreed to a reduction of 52 clays in the racing year. At present racing in "some form or other occurs on 207 days of the year in the metropolis and country. It was also decided to eliminate the clashing of meetings held under the auspices of the Australian Jockey Club and the Associated Racing Club. The latter will have six Saturdays in the year free of opposition for their meet ings.
Mechanical hare coursing in New South Wales will cease on September 30. The Government has decided not to renew the licensee of the various clubs after that date.
Also it is probable that there will be a curtailment of mid-week horse and pony racing. The Government is of the opinion that there are too many facilities for gambling.
