AUCKLAND SOCCER.
SATURDAY'S ARRANGEMENTS. REP. TEAM TO MEET H.M.S. DUNEDIN. To-morrow afternoon local senior competition games will be postponed owing to the absence of the touring team in the South, and-the occasion has been availed of to arrange a fixture with H.M.S. Dunedin, most of the players of which have only newly joined the New Zealand etation from the Old Country. It is stated that the newcomers comprise clever players, and the strongest Auckland side has been selected by Mr. Phil. Neeeham, in the absence of the official sole selector, Mr. A. E. Backhouse. The local side on paper appears as capable as the eleven that is on tour, and there is wiedom in the decision to select the strongest available team against the sailors, who, past experience has taught, are a tough proposition on the football field at any time. In the past two seasons the Navy teams have had the best of the exchanges againet Auckland, and the game to-morrow should prove an interesting bout. Followers of school and lower grade Soccer will find an attractive arrangement of curtain-raieers, when three rep. matches will be played, commencing at noon. Auckland Reps.—Gerrard (Thistle), H. Sloane (Glen Innes), Stewart (Ponsonby), Balloch, Wright (Thistle), Spong (Tramurewa), dimming (Thistle), Dunsmore (New Lynn), Bell (Y.M.C.A.), Hitchen (Glen Innes), Kay (Y.M.C.A.).
