OKARITO WASH-UP. The Okarlto Five Miles Beach Gold Dredging Company, Limited (South Westland), reports a wash-up of 220z lSdwt for 118 hours. MATAKI GOLD DREDGING. The directors of the Matakl Gold Dredging Company report that the whole of the dredge machinery has been brought down and put ashore. The first truck load will be sent to Inangahua this week. It 1s expected that work will commenco on the erection of the pontoon at the end of the month. It Is Intended to adopt as near as possible the "Rimu" design for the dredge. A contract has been let for road formation. As a result of a visit to the district bv a member of the board, the directors have obtained further options over certain lands adjacent to the areas over which the company holds Its prospecting rights. Arrangements are now being finalised for the use of one of the Government keystone drills, with a view to further prospecting and testing the areas. GOLCONDA. Manager's Report.—During the week we have extended the east crosscut to under the vertical of the rise. We started to drive on the leaders cut in the crosscut on the hillward side and nice colours ofgold have been seen. Shaft: The shaft was sunk a further distance of 6ft, total below chamber 67ft. The country is of a good, firm description. We will open out for the chamber when we reach the 75ft mark.
