DIVORCE SOUGHT.
BY MAURICE CHEVALIER. PARIS, July 29. Maurice Chevalier, the "talkie" star, is petitioning for divorce from Yvonne Vallee on-the grounds of incompatibility. Chevalier's counsel said that the proceedings were taken by mutual agreement. The Chevaliers would remain good friends, but they wanted to recover their freedom. Chevalier met Miss Vallee in 1923, when he selected her as his dancing partner in a new Parisian revue. When the couple visited London, the newspapers featured the story of their ideally happy married life. Madame Chevalier said she was proud of, and made happy by, the interest taken in her husband by his innumerable women admirers. "What more charming token of his success could I wish for?" she asked. "We've built a villa at Cannes to our own design. It is our little dream come true!/'
