MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.

The Mount Roekill Koad Board met last night, Mr. C. M. McCullough.'prer siding. ■ Water Supply.—Th-e Onehunga Borouglj Council advised the board that tho new electric pumps are being installed, and will soon be in working order, when it is hoped that the board will have no further cause for complaint relative to the noise in the water main. The board received tbis information with satisfaction.

Sanitary Inspector.—The medical office* of health intimated that in future the senior inspector, Mr. Franklin, will carry out the duties of sanitary inspector in Mount Roskill. The board recorded its appreciation of the work done during the past ten years by Inspector Wark in Mount Roskill. The appointment of inspector Franklin aa his successor yaus confirmed.

Street Names.—The works committee will report to the next meeting on the question of assisting the City Council to eliminate the present duplication, of street names in the metropolitan area.

Street Shelter.—The Auckland Transport Board agreed to contribute 50 per cent of the cost of repairing the shelter shed at Greenwood's Corner, and the On« Tree Hill Borough Council agreed to contribute one-fourth. These offers were accepted. The work will not be started until a reply has been received from, the City Council.

Tenders. —Three tenders were received for tlie lease of the Dominion Reserve. The board accepted that of Mr. A. R. Saundere, at £10 per annum.

Clerk and Treasurer.—Mr. S. I. Goodall reported that the board in committee had reduced the number of applicants for the position of clerk and treasurer from 83 to 6. Three are residents in and near Auckland.-It was decided tto ask these three to meet the board next Monday. If a selection Is not' then made the board will consider selecting one from the three, who are not resident in the district.

Accident Insurance.—lt wae agreed ta pay the balance of £439 4/3, owing on accident insurance premiums, these having been checked aiicl found correct. Seymour Park.—lt was agreed to lay down three cricket pitches in Seymour Park, at a cost not exceeding £15. Mr. Donald said he estimated the annual revenue from the park would be £40 from the cricket club, and £20 from the football club.

Special Meeting.—A special meeting of the board is to be held taext Tuesday night to deal with the water supply in the district.
