ENGLISH FOOTBALLERS.
NORTHLAND IMPRESSIONS. PLEASED WITH WHANGAREI. "The time and money involved in foing to Whangarei was well worth while," said Mr. R. T. Anderton, the manager, who went to Whangarei with the Englishmen. "We thought we were going to a mere village, but we were delighted to enter a fine town and the facilities available, together with the reception accorded us, were delightful. The weather was not too good, still, to my mind, the exhibition provided was the second best given by our team fco far during the tour. The spectators evinced keen enjoyment of the game. I think the match left a very favourable impression. The Northland boys were triers to whom the contest should prove a valuable experience. I should add that Whangarei is well worthy including in any future itinerary." _ Hudson, the Salford right-winger of the English team, who suffered a severe knock in the match played at Whangarei, is not as badly hurt as was at first thought,. He was up and about today when he received massage treatment. __^____^__
