i CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY. ; Another game in the Auckland open ' snooker championship was played last I evening at Jim Phillips' billiard I room, H.B. Building, Queen Street, > when Fredatovich and Bax played • their match. The game was slow i and tedious to the onlookers. Safety tactics were indulged in, as many as ten > consecutive visits to the table being made '■ by both players without an attempt to pot a ball. Bax won the first game, but only by the black ball. The second gani-e was 1 even more strenuous than the first, the i" scores being fairly even throughout. A kiss left the final blue over Uie i>oeKet for Bax, 1 which he potted, to also get position on : the pink and pot that ball too, which put him more than 7 points ahead. Bax won ; the match on twef games, the scores being 52-41 and 58-44. ' f
