The annual At Home of the Victoria League was held in the lounge of the Lyceum Club last evening, when there was a large gathering of members and friends. The large lounge looked particularly attractive for the occasion. Bowie of hydrangea were arranged in large bowls and set in each corner of the room, and tall crystal vases containing iriees and golden jonquils were on the tables. Tall stands containing autumn foliage in all its glory of golden and brown added a further touch of artistic colour, while in the.supper room Iceland poppies made colourful decoration on the tablee. The guests, who included a number of visitors from other parts of the Dominion, were received on their arrival by Miss Mowbray, president of the league, who wore a frock of black satin beaute with embroideries of jet and silver in a panel down the front.
