OTHER STRONG CLASSES
An impressive exhibit of dogs, 276 in all, was put on show by the Auckland Kennel Association on one of the floors of the Campbell Buildings, Lome Street, to-day. The entry of Alsatians was a record, and Mr. R. Marshall, vice-president of the association, said that it was the best exhibit of Alsatians yet made at any show in New Zealand. Pekingese formed the next best entry, and this was also stated to be one of the best yet exhibited in the Dominion. The judge was Mr. Fred D'Helin. Australia's most prominent allround judge of dogs, who was brought across the Tasman by the local association to judge their exhibits. Results: — Retrievers. —Mr. A. SI. Samuel, M.P.. won both the novice and New Zealand-bred classes for curly black dogs. His dog Tim got two first;) and his other dog, Seek, carried off the second prizes.
