KAITANGATA BALLOT.
MEN VOTE AGAINST STRIKE,
NO TROUBLE WITH OWNERS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. A proposal to strike in sympathy with other coal miners was defeated by a ballot yesterday by the Kaitangata miners. " Of 205 votes cast, 116 we'-e against the proposal to strike, and B'J in favour.
The proposal to strike was made purely in sympathy with the- miners who arc already out. The Kaitangata men are working under an agreement which has a year to run, and there is no suggestion of trouble between the men and the owners. Heavy orders are coming in, and the mine is working in full swing, the output being entirely satisfactory.
