DEATH OF COMPENSATION.
PROMISING YOUNG HORSE. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. The death has occurred of Compensation, a four-year-old by Anomaly from Hard Cash, and one of the most promising young horses produced at Wingatui for years He won eight races, and was second once and third four times in twenty starts. His best successes were scored m the Dunedin Champagne Stakes in 19.30, Wellington Racing Club's Metropolitan Handicap, and the James Hazlett Gold Cup at Dunedin last year. In all lie won 1050sove for his owner, Mr. R. McDonald.
