It- seems a pity that the expense the Dominion is going to of sending such a large galaxy of talent to Ottawa to answer one single question is necessary. When New Zealand has put its propositions forward, Mr. Runciman will say, "Well, my little man, what do you want? England has provided a free market for all your produce, and ill return you have raised a tariff wall against her manufactures. What are you going to do about it?" As Viscount Snowden points out, "If every producing country is going to export as much as possible and import as little as possible, what is to be the end of it all? UNEMPLOYED.
