GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Gleu Eden Town Board was held last evening. Mr. A. J. Routley presided. Rate Arrears. —It was decided to give further notice to ratepayers as to tlie urgent necessity for payment of rate arrears. Highways.—The proposed expenditure on highways, to be submitted to the Public Works Department, is not to exceed £360. Unemployment.—The board decided to register unemployed boys in the district. A refusal was received from the Unemployment Board to an application for a grant to the town board to reduce expenditure on relief works. A notice of reduction of insurance of workers from 30/ per £100 to 20/ was received. Tlie Education Board is to be requested to assist in paying for relief work on the school grounds. Lighting.—The Waitemata Power Board is to be requested to reduce the cost of street lights.
