THEFT OF PETROL.
OWNER OF CAR CHARGED.
VEHICLE REPORTED MISSING,
The alleged theft of a motor car on Sunday, a» reported to the Onehunga police yesterday morning, had a surprising outcome in the afternoon, for the owner, Roy Hetherington, wae arrested and charged with stealing five gallons of benzine, valued at 10/, the property of George Arthur Archer. Sergeant S. A. Brown said the alleged theft of petrol took place on Sunday night from Mr. Archer's motor car, parked outside the Methodist Church at Onehunga. At the sergeant's request, the case was remanded until next Friday afternoon by the presiding justice, Mr. J. Laking. . ~ Hetherington was allowed bail in the sum of £10, on condition that he did not communicate with a certain other young man.
