DESIGN COMMENDED.
NEW ZEALAND ARCHITECT. WORLD-WIDE COMPETITION. Mr. Horace L. Massey. architect, Auckland, received commendation upon his entry in the competition for, new premises in London for the Royal Institute of British Architects, costing' approximately £210,000. There were entries from British architects in all parts of the world. Mr. Massey's design, which was placed in the first 12 out of 284 submitted, was the only one from a colonial competitor to be commended, with the exception of that of Mr. E. W. Armstrong,', who is now practising in London. A number of New Zealand architects took part in 'tie. competition.
