BANDIT MURDERS FOR £2. VANCOUVER, June 9. A lone bandit invaded the town of Lothbiniere (Quebec), and killed a bank manager, Mr. Bernard, who lived above the office. Then ho forced the manager's daughter, Marie, to attempt to open the lock combination. Tho girl was struggling with tho dials when the robber's spotlight was extinguished by failure of the battery. Tho girl collapsed, and the robber beat her so badly that she will die. After he fled, the girl crawled to the door and roused the neighbours. Police are ucouring the countryside. The bandit got only £2.
