AUCKLAND CLUB. Ideal racing conditions prevailed for the Auckland Cycle Club's 25-mile handicap at Tamaki on Saturday. Five and a hall lalTot the usual circuit had to be negotiated, and the field was dispatched in the following order: F. Clarke 11.30. F. Lowndes, 10.45: B. Van Ulett,B4s: P. Bicknell, 6.45: N. Light rain made conditions trying for the competitors in the two road races conducted bv the Manukau Amateur Cycling aSb over the Avondale South course on Saturday. Gordon was the only rider to retire. The six-lap senior, 15 miles, drew a field of 19 starters, with C. D. Thackwell (9.0) on tho limit, and A. W. D. Robinson and Hen. In a fast, spirited linish last season's Junior road champion, A. W. D. Robinson, came to light with some extra "horsepower," and to everyone's astonishment outsprinted Hen. R. Dwight by a wheel to gain time honours in 43.11, which was excellent considering that rain fell throughout the senior event. Dwight, who was second fastest in 43.11 1-5, was the first to congratulate Robinson on his surprise I ' Markhuin won by 2.48 from X. B. Casey ' who headed in a bunch o£ six riders. *
AUCKLAND AMATEURS. The Auckland Amateurs on Saturday conducted an 18-mile handicap over two laps of the large circuit and straight at To Atatu. The weather came over showery just about starting time, but in spite of this a record field for the club of 25 starters lined up. Results:—R. Linn (11.30), riding time 57.33. 1; W. Crocker (7.45), 54.37, 2; H. Enderby (5.30), 52.22 2-5, 3; W. Pinker (5.0), 51.54, 4. Fastest time: H. O'Connor (scr), 50.45, 1: I. C. Laloli (scr), 50.48 2-5, 2: C. Johnson (2.0), 51.0, 3; W.
