"BLACKLISTED."
PITKEKOHE AND KELXEF WORK ALLEGATIONS AT MEETING. An allegation wne made at last nightV meeting of tho Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce that the Unemployment Board, or one of ite principal officers in Auckland, had "blacklisted" the Pukekohe borough. Speakers contended that there was ample work in the borough for borough men on the unemployed list, and there was no necessity for the men to be transported into" tho Franklin County area. The men, it was alleged, wore taken from the borough into the count.v and no reason whatever wae given tor the decision. One speaker expressed the opinion that the matter wae a Phonal one between a Departmental officer and a r<sßl dent of Pukekohe. It was decided to take the matter up with the M.P. for the district, and also with the officer in charge of unemployment in Auckland. jjgjj^ Jm
