DROP IN BETTING.
FIGURES FOR ELEERSEIE, LAST FOUR SEASONS. The Great Northern meeting concluded the Hat racing season as far as Auckland is concerned, and though the amount put through the totalisator was £109,288 compared with £136,978 10/ for the previous year the club would have a very satisfactory meeting when all is considered. The stakes had been reduced a good deal, and the club would lose about £ISOO through the decrease in the totalisator, but they would pick up over £1000 as the result of the recent rebate allowed by the Government. The following figures show the amount of money put through the machine at Ellcrslie during the last four seasons: — 1928-29. 1929-30. 1930-31. 1931-32. £ £ £ £ Spring .. 91,332 UO.42SJ 79,502 54,049 Summer 310,045} 352,430 282,558 1'17,98.34 Autumn . 151,5114 153,497 102,317 G4.S4S" Winter . 221.1424 154.5C0 13G.975* 109,25S Total .. 753,034 i 800,9211 001,355* 42G,1G51
