Indian Girl Commits Suicide In Bridal Dress. BURNED ON FUNERAL PYRE. CALCUTTA, May 20. The daughter of a constable in a village near Masulipatam, South India, committed suicide on the eve of her wedding. Dressing in her cot?tly bridal garments, she placed herself on a secretly constructed funeral pyre near her home and was burnt to death. The girl left a letter stating that she was of hallowed birth and would marry no mortal Indian.
