RETIRING PROFESSOR.
PRESENTATION IN DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. Dr. F. R. Riley, who has been lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Otago University since 1909, and three years ago was appointed professor of these subjects, recently retired. Medical graduates throughout the Dominion were asked to forward subscriptions to Dunedin in order that some recognition might be made of his services, and this evening, during the course of the University ball given by Sir Thomas .and Lady Sidey on the occasion of the graduation ceremony, opportunity was taken to make a. formal presentation. The presentation took the form of a painting entitled "The Broken Necklace," by Webster, which was selected from a collection of British works of art recently exhibited in Dunedin, and also a cheque for a substantial amount.
