DEMAND FOR RECALL.
British Labour M.P. and Action Of N.S.W. Governor. MR. BALDWIN QUESTIONED. LONDON, May 28. In the House of Commons, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, in reply to a request made by Mr. J. Maxton (Ind. Lab., Bridgeton, Glasgow) for an opportunity to discuss his bill demanding the recall of Sir Philip Game, Governor of New South Wales, owing to the latter's dismissal of the Lang Government, said, "I understand we have no jurisdiction in the matter. While lam making inquiries there will be an election in New South Wales which will decide the question." (Ministerial cheers and laughter.)
Mr. Maxton: If the election results in the return of Mr. Lang's party, will the Government recall Sir Philip Game. Mr. Speaker: That is hypothetical. Mr. Baldwin promised to investigate the question of jurisdiction.
