WHANGAREI HARBOUR.
MB. FINI.AYSON BE-EI,ECTEI>. FAITH IN THE NEW PORT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Mr. J. A. Finlayson, who has been chairman of the Whangarei Harbour Board for the past six years, was unanimously re-elected to that position at the animal meeting of the board to-day. In returning thanks for his re-election, Mr. Finlayson said that had the work at Kioreroa been completed he would not again have been a candidate. After nine years' effort it was his ambition to see the first ship call at the new port. Ho expressed his firm belief that the developmental work at Kioreroa would bear fruit within the next three years.
