PRICES FOR METALS. TIN FIRMER AGAIN. LONDON, May 24. (Quotations on May 23 in parentheses.) Copper.—Spot, £27 11/3 (£27 11/10%); three months, £27 13/9 (£27 14/4%). Electrolytic Copper. — Spot, £31 15/ (£3l 15/); three months, £32 15/ (£32 15/) Wire Bars.-£32 15/ (£32 15/) Lead—Spot, £10 5/ (£lO 6/3); three months, £10 15/ (£lO 16/3). Spelter.—Spot, £12 10/ (£l2 5/); three months, £12 13/9 (£l2 10/). Tin—Spot, £123 2/6 (£122 2/6); three months, £125 7/0 (£124 2/6). LONDON TALLOW SALES. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. At the London tallow sales 946 casks were offered and 57 sold at sixpence to a shilling decline. Mutton, fine, 23/6 per cwt; medium, 20/6. Beef, fine, 24/; medium, 20/6. THE PRICE OF GOLD. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. Gold is quoted at £5 12/8 per ounce. LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, May 25. At the wool sales 9297 bales were offered, including 4067 New Zealand. Approximately 4674 were sold. Opening rates were maintained, with more general demand. There were some withdrawals owing to high limits. New Zealand greasy crossbred, Kawa, top price 7%d, average 5%d. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. are in receipt of a cable from their principals, Messrs. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, 25th inst., reading as follows:— Butter.—Danish, 102/; New Zealand, finest salted, 93/ to 95/; Australian, salted, 93/ to 95/. , . Cheese.—New Zealand, "white and coloured, 55/ to 56/. Both markets quiet. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. has received the following cable from its London house, dated May 25:— Butter.—o6/ per cwt. Market steady. Cheese. —56/ per cwt. Market firm.
