Expedition to Scale 26,629 ft Peak. ATTACK ON NANGA PARBAT. CALCUTTA, May 24. An expedition led by Herr Wilhelm Meikl, with seven Bavarian mountaineers and two members of the American Mountaineering Club, including Miss Elizabeth Knowlton, has left the base at Srinagar, Kashmir, in an attempt to scale Nanga Parbat (20,029 feet), the highest peak in the Western Himalayas and the sixth highest in the world.
