DISPUTE OVER IDOL.
Shops and Markets Closed in Bombay. POSITION IMPROVING. (British Official Wireless.) (Receded 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 24. A Bombay message states that although feeling is running high after the recent communal liots, the general position in the city continues to improve. All mills are now working, although some have reduced numbers. Retail 6hops are open, but the wholesale shops and markets, are still closed owing to a dispute over an idol.
