BATTERY RESISTANCE.
Tt is possible for a loose battery terminal to cause over-heating of the generator. This is due to high resistance being introduced into the charging circuit, causing too much current to flow through the generator field-windings. Such high resistance may be caused by loose or corroded cable connections at the battery, lack of sufficient liquid in the battery colls, or loose or dirty connections at the generator or at the ammeter.
