ATTACKED AN OFFICER.
FIREMAN ON" THE RARAXGA,

WELLINGTON, Tuesday.
.An attack on Archibald McSperran, third officer on the Rarauga, when he went to the forecastle to recover cheese stolen while the vessel was loading at Xew Plymouth, resulted in William Hall Stanfield, a fireman, being sentenced in the Police Court to-day to two month* , imprisonment. It was stated that the shipping company would guarantee that accused would go back to England in one of Hβ «hips when discharged from gaol.
