WELLINGTON, Tuesday.

.An attack on Archibald McSperran, third officer on the Rarauga, when he went to the forecastle to recover cheese stolen while the vessel was loading at Xew Plymouth, resulted in William Hall Stanfield, a fireman, being sentenced in the Police Court to-day to two month* , imprisonment.
