UNIVERSITY IN OTAGO.

LOSSES ON INVESTMENTS

SUGGESTION TO APPROACH

GOVERNMENT,

TRAINING COLLEGE MAY GO.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

DUNEDIN, this day.

A statement on finance which was presented by the 'treasurer of the Otago University College showed that the college is losing £1000 annually on income from investments. Rentals in arrears, he said, totalled nearly £5000, while next year' they could expect a reduction of at least £1000 in Training College income, with the probability of having no training college in a few years. The treasurer expressed the view that in such circumstances it was not honest to continue on the present course under full sail, and suggested that they should confer with the Government to ascertain the exact position.
