CAUSE OF ANXIETY.
MacDONALD'S EYE TROUBLE,
LONDON, April 21.
Much anxiety is felt in political circles regarding the eyesight of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald. The "Sydney Sun" understands that Mr. MacDonald anticipates undergoing an operation on his right eye in a few months.
He is still suffering from glaucoma, which necessitated the operation to his left eye on February 4 and which is likely to have increasing effects on both eyes in the event of worry and overstrain, to which the Prime Minister has been especially subject owing to his insistence on overworking himse! . Glaucoma is a diseased condition of the eyes, causing hardening of the eyeball and far-sightedness. It very often leads to blindness.
