BAD CRIMINAL RECORD.
"You appear to have followed a criminal career ever since you came to this country," said Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court yesterday to Roy Norris, aged 29, a Tasmar.ian, who had been committed from Wanganui for sentence on a charge of breaking and enter : ing and theft. ' Norris, added his Honor, had a bad record, and had rendered himself liable to be classed as an habitual criminal. At present he was serving a sentence on a charge of being an incorrigible rogue, having escaped from prison at Ohapu. His Honor said that after his escape from gaol Norris had gone about with a loaded rifle, which he presented at the police. He was sentenced to three years' imprisonment with hard labour, to run concurrently with the term of five years' reformative detention which "lias yet to be served.
