POSTAL OFFICER'S DEATH.
PRESIDENT OF P. AND T. GUILD,

WANGANUI, Tuesday,
The death has occurred of Mr. James Furrie, assistant postmaster at Wellington, aged 47 years, and president of the P. and T. Officers' Guild. For several vcars he was senior supervisor of the telegraph office at Invcrcargill, and occupied the position of assistant postmaster at Dunedin before his promotion to Wellington last year. Mr. Furrie had a serious illness six months ago, and recently came to Wanganui to recuperate. He leaves a widow and three children.
