"A STUPID THING."
YOUNG MAORI'S FORGERY,
" This was a stupid thing to do," remarked Mr. Justice Herdman at the Supreme Court yesterday, referring to the offence of forging the name on a motor driver's license which has been committed by William Lemon, a young half-caste Maori from Kaikohe.
His Honor remarked that Lemon's previous record was a good one, and he had been given an excellent character by the police. It was difficult to understand why he should behave so foolishly.
He was ordered to come up for sen tence if called upon.
