VALEDICTORY.
There was a gathering of Otahuhu citizens in the Kiugsland Hall to bid farewell to Dr. A. Martin Ross, who is leaving for Edinburgh, and will be absent at least 12 months. The Mayor, Mr. H. I. Clements, who presided, presented to Dr. Ross an ijluminated address, decorated with the Returned Soldiers' badge, a Rugby emblem, and a replica of the Nixon Monument at Otahuhu. It was presented on behalf of the Returned Soldiers' Club, the Otahuhu Rugby Football Club and the many friends of Dr. Ross, who desired to express their dee]) appreciation of his public spirit. Other speakers were Mr. R. V. Closev, president of the Returned Soldiers' Club, Mr. J. Muir, of the Rugby Union, Mr. C, It. Robson, St. John Ambulance, Mr. A. Trenwith. the Rev. Mr. Gatman and the Rev. R. J. Stanton.
