TECHNICAL CLUB OPENING.

The Technical College Old Hoys' Athletic Club will commence its winter season with a run at Mission Hay on Saturday next.

CALLIOPE CLUB,

On Saturday tlie Calliope Club conducted two races, one for novices and one for the "veterans," each over a course of 21 nnles. The races started in Hillcrest Road, the trail lending from there over country for about half a mile until Lake Road was reached. From there the runners proceeded along Lake Koad for about a quarter of a mile up Coronation liomi and back cross country to the starting point. Two laps were covered in each race. A l:irge field of 33 started, including IS new performers, several of whom showed excellent promise. The course of five miles covered r.,ad, hill and field work, and an easy •ace was set all the way. No run-in was '•eld. but runners will be handicapped for the. sprint home in next Saturdays race, which will start from the Mount Albert Grammar School. NEW LYNN CLUB. Starting at Avondalc racecourse on Saturday, the New Lynn Harrier Club had a ruii to Now Lynn and back again, a distance of about three miles. There was a good muster for tlie o - ling run. 'P'O run for 440 yar-ls resulted : —lverr 1 Dolan 2. Heron 3. Brown was fourth. Rorgcf-s fifth and Wolham sixth. Good form was shown by the three placed men.
