EX-SERVICE WOMEN.

Each year, an event keenly looked forward to by members of the Ex-.Ser-vice Women's Association is their annual dinner, and on Saturday evening a large number met at the Albert Hotel. The tables were arranged with tall crystal vases, containing blue delphiniums and yellow chrysanthemums. The members wore their decorations for war work, including medals, badges and ribbons. Tlio president, Mrs. E. M. Gould, welcomed those present, and stated that she was pleased to see so many still taking an interest in the association and reviving the old war-time spirit of comradeship. She made reference to the forthcoming departuro for England of three members, Mrs. R. 11. Webber, Miss Bradshaw and Miss Frost-Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Webber were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their interest and help in connection with the annual dinners. The Mayoress, Mrs. G. W. Hutchison, and Lady Nolan were the guest< of honour, and Miss Ernest welcomed them on behalf of the association, stating it was the Mayoress' first attendance at one of their gatherings. Miss Ernest also referred to Lady Nolan's good work in England during the war, on behalf of the soldiers on leave. Some of the units represented were the Army Nursing service, V.A.D., 8.R.C.5., W.A.A.C., W.R.A.F., W.R.N.S., Women's Legion, New Zealand War Contingent, Scottish Women's Unit, and the Ambulance Drivers. Toasts were also proposed by Miss E. M. Nutsey, A.R.R.C. (patron); Miss E. Stubbington, A.R.R.C. Following the dinner a largo picture party was held, and later a buffet supper was served in the foyer of the treatre. Among those present were: Mrs. G. W. Chalmers, black georgette with diamante trimming; Mrs. Ranfurly Smith, flame georgette; Mrs. Luxford, black lace; Mis. Noel Johnson, floral georgette, in black and white; Mrs. F. McHugh, navy georgette; Mrs. J. Stewart Masson, black taffeta and net; Mrs. G. F. A. Lewin, pastel blue taffeta; Mrs. G. Luxford, citron lace and net; Mrs. R. -T. Michaels, black georgette, relieved with ceiise; Mrs. A. Jacob, palest pink georgette, with lace coatee; Mrs. Webber, brocaded lame frock; Mrs. MeComb, black chenille o-eorgette; Mrs. Carruthers, navy georgette; Mrs. H. M. Buchanan, wine red lace; Mrs. Parkinson, black georgette and gold lace; Mrs. Hirst, black lace, with red velvet coatee; Mrs. P. Noonan, black velvet frock; Miss E. M. Ernest, green lace frock; Miss E. Stubbington, nut brown floral georgette; Miss J. N. Teape, black georgette, embossed, with black velvet coatee; Miss N. L. Dash', palest pink lace frock, with deeper pink trimmings; Miss L. Bryant, black georgette, with cream shawl; Miss Wilkinson Smith, ninon frock, in bronze shade; Miss Craven, black satin frock, with gold lame; Miss Fox-Rogers, jade green crepe de chine, with coatee of same material.
