NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. TOURNEY AT TITIRANGI, 1933. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council was held at Wellington on February 1, when there were present Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), Messrs. A. D. S. Duncan. W. E. A. Gill, M. J. Crombie and E. Page. The proposed conditions for the KirkWindever Cup competition were considered, but eventually it was left to members to go more fully into the matter before the next meeting in March. The contest will probably -be hold in Sydney in June. For the 1932 championship tournament applications had 'been received last year from Titirangi and Hamilton Golf Clubs. At the last tournament in Christehurch strong representations were made by competitors, both amateur and professional, in the direction of holding the 1932 meeting at Wellington, in order to minimise the expenses of the majority of competitors. The council having indicated this wish to the committee of the Wellington Golf Club, it wrote offering its links if it were desired to comply with the views expressed last year. After a full discussion the council decided, purely on the grounds of economy, to accept the Wellington Golf Club's offer and to hold the tournament at Ilere-

taunga, commencing on November 3. The council, in ordinary circumstances, would have ibeen strongly in. favour of holding the tournament at Titirangi, and if conditions are favourable next year the feeling would be in favour of holding the meeting there in 1933. A method of playing the open and amateur championships, which was the subject of a resolution at the last meeting of delegates, was left over for the full consideration of the council 'before the March meeting. Fortheominig tournaments adirised to the association are:— provincial championship tournament (Titirangi Golf Club's links, New Lynn), March 26, 28 and 29; Hamilton Golf Club, Easter handicap tournament, also March 26, 2S and 29.
